Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information PhyStudy ("we," "us," "our") collects, how we use it, and your rights regarding it. By using PhyStudy, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: Email address and password (stored securely, hashed) when you register.
Usage data: Quiz topics, chapters, and subjects you select; your quiz performance, scores, and history; number of quizzes generated (to enforce free/Pro tier limits).
Payment information: When you purchase Pro access, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details ourselves — Razorpay handles and secures all payment data under its own compliance standards. We only store the transaction reference, amount, and status needed to confirm your purchase.

- Provide and maintain your account and quiz history
- Generate quizzes tailored to your selected subjects/topics
- Enforce free and Pro tier usage limits
- Process payments and confirm Pro access
- Respond to support requests
- Improve the Service
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate PhyStudy:
- Google Gemini API: Your quiz topic/chapter selections are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate quiz questions. Refer to Google's own privacy policy for how they handle API request data.
- Razorpay: Processes all payments. Razorpay's handling of your payment details is governed by their own privacy policy.
- Neon (PostgreSQL hosting): Your account and usage data is stored in a Neon-hosted PostgreSQL database.
- Render: Hosts the PhyStudy application itself.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account remains active. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, contact us via our Contact page.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including password hashing and secure database access. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

PhyStudy is used by students preparing for competitive exams, many of whom are minors. We do not knowingly collect more information than necessary to provide the Service (email and quiz usage data). If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about your child's data, contact us via our Contact page.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.
